This lacks logic, as you do not “need” a gun. Otherwise getting hit by a car going 90 might do you some damage, but it would not kill you. You dont need a gun to kill a person. If someone was attacked by a lion, you wouldnt say “Ah man, Ted was attacked by a lion’s teeth.” People would look at you like the idiot you are. Because the thing is, the lion attacked you, getting bit by it was incidental to the attack. Just like when a person decides to kill someone, the weapon they use is incidental to the fact that someone decided to go ahead and kill someone else. Its not like capital murder is suddenly taken less seriously because the killer used a bat, or a knife instead of a gun. Also if guns killed people how-come the judge sentences the person and doesnt sentence the gun 25 to life.
